getting a new phone…..

Palm Pre.jpg

I have a relationship with my phone.  I’m on it all the time.  So, the decision to get a new one comes with a lot of consternation, apprehension, trepidation, and downright fear.  Because, making a wrong choice is just….well something that will make me miserable.

I currently own a Palm Pre.  For the most part, I really like it.  But, it has two deal breakers that I didn’t anticipate, a bad battery and no voice activation.

Who-da-thunk those two things would cause me to divorce my phone.  But, it seems, they will.

Now, here’s the new suitor.  It’s the HTC something-or-other from Sprint.  Well, Sprint doesn’t make it; they just put their name on it.

The first questions I asked were about voice activation and battery life, and then the navigation.  What kinds of cables and cords?  What about bluetooth?

It operates as an internet hotspot, so I can get rid of my $60 a month Mifi and only carry this.  It’s $30 (the hotspot part) a month.  That’s good.

It has an eight megapixel camera and comes with an 8G card.  If my math serves me correctly, I can take 1000 pictures before I download.

It’s got a bazillion apps, almost none of which I’ve ever heard of.   I think it plows snow as well.

There was one question I forgot to ask.  Can I make a call?

Can you hear me now?

  1. Don't tell me Tom, let me guess. You got it and one of its applications created this wonderful new format and header. :) Looking good! -Brenda-

  2. Hi Brenda,
No phone yet. They're all sold out. So, I have to wait a week or so. I'll report on it as soon as I get it. And, for the new look, the other one was depressing me.
