a refreshing thought

In watching “Meet The Press” this morning, Vice President Joe Biden was asked what advice he would give to someone running for public office. He said this; “Be willing to lose over something in which you believe.”wpa8e27427[1]

What a refreshing thought.

  4. Tom, re your posting Cluk, Cluk, Cluk of May 3/2009. Received the following in my inbox today and thought I'd share it with you. It is an email to our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper. It goes as follows:

"Please find below my suggestion for fixing Canada's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to Banks and Car companies, that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan:

There are about twenty million people over the age of fifty in the work force. Pay them one million dollars a piece severance, for early retirement with the following stipulations:

    1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings -- Unemployment fixed.
    2) They MUST buy a new Canadian CAR. Twenty million cars ordered -- Auto Industry fixed.
3)They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage -- Housing Crisis fixed.
    4) They MUST send their kids to School/College/University to acquire an eductation so they can earn their money -- Crime rate fixed
5)Buy $50 of Alcohol/Tobacco/Petrol a week -- Reimbursement of payment vie duty, taxes etc.

It can't get easier than that!"

Hope this gives you smile, and I shan't be offended if you wish to delete. -Brenda-
